How it works in Chester County
- Describe the car. Year, make, model, mileage, condition, and the ZIP code where it's parked.
- Get an offer. It's based on the car's condition and what similar cars are selling for right now.
- Sign and get picked up. If you accept, you pick a time and the car is picked up where it's parked.

Selling in Chester County: what to know
- Long driveways and rural roads: if the car is down a long lane, behind a building, or on soft ground, say so up front. It affects what kind of truck gets sent.
- Emissions applies here. Chester County is in the five-county emissions area. If the car failed, see selling a car that failed inspection.
- Estate cars: the Chester County Register of Wills is in West Chester. See selling without a title for how estate transfers work.
- Don't confuse it with the city of Chester: Chester the city is in Delaware County. If that's you, see the Delaware County page.
Paperwork checklist
- The title in your name (or see no title)
- A payoff quote, if there's still a loan
- Your photo ID
- Keys, if you have them (not required for every car)
- Remove your license plate after the sale. In Pennsylvania the plate stays with you, not the car.
